Jack, the photographer

I think the best way to introduce myself is to tell you about how I work and my approach to wedding photography and making photographs in general.

I have been working as a professional photographer for over 10 years, specialising in weddings, studio portraits and sometimes commercial work with varied and interesting assigments.  I also have a great passion for fine art & landscape photography.  For me, wedding photography is just like fine art photography, it should have elegance, a story and it should evoke emotions.  I describe my wedding photography as personal and creative with a heavy dose of artistic flair.

Binding the artistic and personal story together can be a hard task.  Nonetheless, I have found the way to make it work, especially at weddings; they are occasions full of emotions and the venue is often beautiful, if not stunning. The result is a story told by images that represent THE SPECIAL DAY.  My wedding photography is not just about documenting the events of the day, it is about creating memories, emotion and ultimately, beautiful images.

I have an attention to detail approach to everything I do, and do it with a friendly and professional manner.  I am also a bit of a perfectionist, which is a good personal trait to have as a photographer.

Award winning fine art photography

In 2009 I was awarded “Associateship” by both The British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP) and The Royal Photographic Society (RPS). This means I have demonstrated that my photography has a high standard of craftsmanship and creative ability. BIPP is an internationally recognised qualifying organisation with over 100 years of experience in supporting and networking photographers.

To obtain this honour, I had to submit 20 images with consistent quality that was worthy of ‘Associateship’; a higher level of qualification than most of the photographers. They are reviewed by a team of assessors who are at the top of their respected fields. In addition, I have proved my ability to produce great images by winning awards at national level over the years.
